Just thought I'd share what I made with some leftover glow in the dark skeletons.
I would hate to throw them out, even if they were around a dollar.
Glad I didn't! This made for an awesome gift for a friend.

I was pretty excited that She Ash turned out as well as it did.
Granted, I missed wearing it to Theatre Bizzare because I was sick and it was still not finished.
So, it could use to come out next sci-fi convention. (Considering I haven't been to any conventions since A Cen 2006.)
I am very grateful that Kayce taught me last year how to destroy a shirt with the proper spraypaint and fake blood.

Since Matt has been plugging away on his paper in the living room, I've been in our room sewing. It's been a good television-free week.
I decided that I want to put all the scrap fabric I have to good use. (I did downsize a lot when we moved, but I still have at least a solid four cubic feet of fabric.)
Back in October I tried to make pants... Didn't work out.
So instead I made a skirt.

Mike, I still have that neat winter blue velvet print (Matt and I saw it and thought of you). Is there anything I could make for you with it?

I gave up. I placed that dread order at the end of August and have yet to get them for Penance.
I finally found something on Ebay comparable, visually and monetarily.
( In wig form )
This might even be better than extensions that I'd have to clip into my hair. This way it just covers my entire head- no random bits of browish red hair showing.
The wig could have been a bit longer, but beggars aren't choosers, as they say.
If you know anyone out to buy some hair entensions, don't you dare let them use Ragdolly. It takes quite a bit for me to refuse to use a company again, especially if it's a small business.

12:00 pm - Next cosplay in the making

A almost always have a cosplay in mind to be working on at all times.
Penance has been nearly a year. All is ready except the extensions to come in the mail. (But don't get me started on that topic.....)
So, I've toyed around with the idea of Major Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell a few times.
I have finally decided to do her military uniform.
It fairly simple, but rarely seen.
I've only come across this picture at cosplay.com:
The Tachikoma is amazing! And I hope to find a way to make her glove.
Ideas ideas...

I'm cashing in on some vacation hours this week. I'm devoting at least one day to sewing and drawing.
I want to finish what I started with the Trinity outfit and do the D&D drawing.
I'm still waiting for my extensions. This company has me pretty miffed, keeping me waiting for more than 4 months now...

10:01 am - Aeon Flux costume mention

Since I'm currently uninvolved with sewing nowindays, I think I'd at least comment on the new Aeon Flux movie.
I'm not quite sure about the backing behind the extreme simplification of Flux's costume from that of the MTV series. Anyway, I found a few other cosplayers that did a pretty good job sticking to the original design.

Holly and I stopped at JoAnn's last night to pick up fabric for her baby's Halloween costume.
I found this PVC-looking, black material for about $5 a yard. I HAD to buy it.
It's fundamental for the gothy, industrial type.
I can at least make a skirt and top from that much.

So, in-between working on Penance I've got Matt's long awaited Nakahito costume in the works.
Nakahito is the boy with blue hair in Steel Angel Kurumi. (Gallery link)
It is a robe style outfit- kasode and hakama pants.
I'd say that I have the kasode (shirt) about 60% finished as of tonight.
As for Penance, I got some good claw-like looking gloves from Ebay. Now I need to get some advice as to how to get them from vinyl black to red. >_<
Ooooo. Curse this habit of mine. I just found some vinyl dye spray. I want! I need! It costs over $20. Drat.

Oooooo.
I just got my dread falls ordered for the Penance garb. I originally was planning to get them from I kick Shins but the day I got my PayPal account filled to purchase the dreads- they posted that they were backed up in orders.
So, I had to go back to Google and start all over again. Thankfully, I found some at Ragdolly.net that clip in and are pre-made, ready to ship!

And, then as for the Penance claws... I just found some interesting gloves on Ebay. I'll show them off once I get them and make the proper changes.
To pay for all this I'm doing my fair share of Ebay sales!

9:53 am - Liz Sherman Cosplay Shoot

Here is the finished product for my Liz Sherman costume. After looking at multiple blazers/shirts I found a shiny one, as pictured. My only regret is that I sewed the collar fabric on, but left the black lining inside. Any side shot of me, you see that the inside of the shirt is not white. Bad on my part.
I think I might try and enlist some help for a few Photoshop effects, like a flame in my hand or above my head. :winks at ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) charisangel:
I need to get a haircut, too. So I'll probably have red hair in the near future. The layers/bangs were a little irritating in the photos. Liz's hair is all one length, my hair obviously isn't.
I should just post the pictures now.

It's been said a few times, but I finally spent some time and made progress on the Penance cosplay tonight.
Just the other day, I found the perfect pair of stretch/biking pants at the Salvation Army. Rowk, spandex.
I got to work fast and got all the buckles on the pants and the pants are 95% done. I just need to double check on their fit.
I did a headband as well. Red gloves come in the mail.
All I have left is to finish the shirt. It's about half complete.
After that, all I have to do is have the Kayce dye my hair and gel it a day or so later.
This is my favorite costume thus far.

I started the Penance cosplay and am getting excited.
It's gonna be awesome looking.
My hopes are to have it done around Tuesday or Wednesday
so I can get Matt to take some pictures of me on my days off.
